James joined Hudson Valley Kitchen Design in the spring of 2011, as a kitchen and bath designer as well as taking over the responsibilities of managing the showroom. As the Designer at Hudson Valley Kitchen Design, he strives to be ahead of the design curve. He is knowledgeable on all of the unfolding changes in the cabinetry and countertop industries, as well as staying up to date with the plumbing, lighting, and appliance industries.
James is a life-long resident of the Hudson Valley. Growing up in Pine Bush, he graduated from Orange County Community College with an Associate’s Degree, majoring in Architecture and Construction Technologies.
In 1998 James was hired as Tech Services Manager for Masterwork Kitchens, at which time he started working in the kitchen & bath industry. Since then he has designed kitchens & baths for Kuiken Brothers — as well as his own design firm, JBDesignworks in 2004.
James is an avid environmentalist who brings his passion for green design and sustainability to his projects when possible. He is a member of the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association), the USGBC (US Green Building Council), and was an elected official, serving on the Board of Commissioners for the Cuddebackville Fire District.
He enjoys cycling and winery hopping in his free time.
